“Seniors, social networks and travel: Asking smart questions in transportation research or, things I wish someone had told me before I started writing a thesis proposal”
Julia Silvis graduated from University of California – Davis with a Ph.D. in Transportation, Technology and Policy. Her dissertation explored seniors’ travel behavior and social networks, with an emphasis on ride-sharing. While at Davis, she served on the city’s Bicycle Advisory Commission, which advised the mayor and city council on bicycling policy matters. Currently, she works as a project manager at McKinsey and Company, a consulting firm.
